I wanted to document my Cosplay Crafting here and tell you all how I create my costumes.
So obviously I am starting with my Midna Cosplay (true form). I am going to part the Skirt and Cloak work because the Cloak is rather difficult.
To create Midna's skirt, you will first have to choose the right fabric, depending on if you want it to me a matte or rather shiny kind of fabric. I myself used black Satin which is a shiny one. But please notice that the viscosity of the fabric will also influence the further work.
Furthermore, you need some turquoise, silverish-white and berry red fabric colour (I used the Marabu textile colours) as well as some paint brushes.
The sew work is rather easy, but concerning the fabric, please notice that you will maybe have to sew the edges several times if the fabric is
likely to fray.
I based the pattern on renna-mira-art's from on here; I printed some out, edited them (but hardly) and cut them out.
Putting the papers on the sewn skirt, I first drew the outlines, which are turquoise. Depending on the fabric, you might have to
do several layers.
Like here, only one coat of paint will not cover the fabric, which is why I had to do 3-4 layers.
Then I simply drew the main pattern. Please pay attention to the spaces in between.
Just like the main pattern, I drew the background lines by hand as well, using a rather thin brush; drawing on dark Satin, I obviously
had to do at least 3-4 layers.
That is actually all concerning the skirt; I will try to add some photos and will also submit some photos of the other elements.
